Why Kind Surf?

Kind Surf is a spanish non-profit organization founded in 2012, dedicated to children with fiscal, mental and poverty issues.

We strongly believe in the positive impact and great benefits “Surf Therapy” has on these kids lives.

We are a Team of:

Surf Therapy instructors, coordinators, photographers, videographers, profesional surfers and by 2017 we’ve got a network of over 1100 volunteers in Spain.

1. “Tour Program”
Every year we tour all over Spanish coast (Barcelona, Valencia, San Sebastian, Zarautz, Asturias, Hossegor-South of France) organizing Surf therapy workshops, teaming up with both: local associations and surf schools

2. “Long-Term Program”
In 2017 we have started this Program in collaboration with “Mediterranean Surf School” Kind Surf is 100% financing this program to help disadvantaged children in this community area (Valencia) for them to have access weekly to Surf Therapy during 6 months a year.

We mainly work with children with

  • Cerebral palsy
  • Down syndrome
  • Autism / Asperger
  • Poverty / dysfunctional environment

We have seen the benefits of Surf Therapy in their lives: cognitive and emotional progress, development of physical mobility, self-belief and self-esteem, stress relief, mental relaxation, sharpened senses, inclusion, teamwork, and happiness.

Together, through our Workshops and Long-Term Programs in both locations, we have reached over 1,000 young people with special needs in the last twelve years.
