Why Kind Surf?

Kind Surf is a spanish non-profit organization founded in 2012, dedicated to children with fiscal, mental and poverty issues.

We strongly believe in the positive impact and great benefits “Surf Therapy” has on these kids lives.

We are a Team of:

Surf Therapy instructors, coordinators, photographers, videographers, profesional surfers and by 2017 we’ve got a network of over 1100 volunteers in Spain.

1. “Tour Program”
Every year we tour all over spanish coast (Barcelona, Valencia, San Sebastian, Zarautz, Asturias, Hossegor-South of France) organizing Surf therapy workshops, teaming up with both: local associations and surf schools

2. “Long Term Program”
In 2017 we have started this Program in collaboration with “Mediterranean Surf School” Kind Surf is 100% financing this program to help disadvantaged children in this community area (Valencia) for them to have access weekly to Surf Therapy during 6 months a year.

We mainly work with children with

  • Cerebral palsy
  • Down sindrome
  • Autism / Asperger
  • Poverty / dysfunctional environment

We have seen the benefits Surf Therapy has on their lives: cognitive and emotional progress development of physical mobility self believe / self esteem relises stress relaxes mind and sharpens their senses inclusion team work happiness.

We have reached over 500 kids since 2013:

  • 2013: 67
  • 2014: 102
  • 2015: 184
  • 2016: 215
  • 2017 ( still going till October included)

Kind Surf platform

Surfing is a very comprehensive and beneficial activity and ideal to enjoy nature by experiencing amazing sensations.

It is very BENEFICIAL for kids in disadvantaged situations as it eases PERSONAL GROWTH and fosters SELF-BELIEF, it favours self-esteem and releases stress. It relaxes mind and sharpens senses.

Because every wave is different, kids become more creative and dynamic,  developing psychological skills, own initiative, decision-making and teaches to regulate emotions by identifying and facing them.
